Mission San Diego Excavation Project
The Center for Spanish Colonial Research, a non-profit organization, is excavating the western wing of the quadrangle. The goals are to learn the history of the site and preserve and stabilize the site. The current dig began in 2002, continuing the work of an earlier dig that was suspended in 1984.
