Fifth Mission in East Texas, now on the Louisiana side of the border, established 1716-1717.
It was located to serve the Adaes Indian village.

The Mission was abandoned in 1719 but was later reestablished September 29, 1721 (or 1716) at a different location ( a few miles east) near Presidio Nuestra Señora del Pilar with a new name, San Miguel de Cuellar de los Adaes. It was abandoned in 1773.
