San Francisco de los Julimes

Founded 1683-1684
by Father Fray Nicolas Lopez, O. F. M. and Don Juan Dominguez de Mendoza
Presidio County, Texas

Personal Observations

All that remains is a roadside marker next to an old cemetery on a lonely rood about ten miles west of Presidio, Texas. Nine Missions were established in the Big Bend region, but this was the only marker that I could find. It was easier to find the adjacent Ochoa Cemetery. The marker is only a few miles from the Mexican border.
Artwork pending.
